So there are two major schools of thought for how to win a mini-battle in 4v4 and 5v5 matches.

1) Have (at minimum) the controller and strong DPS get the healer down quick. This eliminates the health regen and makes killing the remainder easy. The downside to this strategy is that the controller in open to pounce on the healer and if your team doesn't have a tank things can go south quickly.

2) Have only the controller go after the healer and have the DPS's and tank (if you have one) burn down the controller. The rational of this strategy is that if the healer is debuffed then his heals with be too small to save the controller. Getting the controller down first will result in everyone else not having the power to hold up strongly in battle. The downside to this strategy is that if the opponents have a tank the debuffs will be getting cleared quickly and your controller probably won't be able to solo the healer.

I have seen both strategies work very well if implemented correctly. I think the main thing a group needs is an established strategy that everyone agrees on before the match. If enough people focus on one guy he will go down.

Also, communication is key. Having someone in a 5v5 sneak off to get the rock or running off in a 4v4 to get a node mid-battle can result in the deaths of the entire team.

Stay together. Talk to each other. And focus fire.

what i find in PVP alot now is that no one is a healer for the other team. they are all DPS or maybe a tank so going after the healer is a moot point. when there is one though this is a good strat.

here are a few of my pointers...

if its moon base everyone just go in your base pull the rock out and put it in the corner by the door you can close and protect it at all costs. its 5 v 5 so having a all 4 roles is ideal with 2 dps. i find that an ice dps and a sorc dps works best here because of their stackable aoes (CoP and Wintery Tempest crush most pvp groups)

it its 8 v 8 or 4 v 4 (non legends) control the available nodes for petes sake.. this holds points on your side. set up camp at a node and defend it with your life..

legends has to many variables with all the different people so ill save that one for another time

You briefly mention that many teams all go dps when in pvp. Can you speak to a method for dealing with instances like this? Is the only real method for dealing with this having the team focus on one target?

when you run into this you kinda wanna feel out from the first one or two deaths who is their top hitter. usually i'd focus on anyone using wolf or anyone using sorc. if you see a wolf everyone needs to crush him. also in PVP if you have all roles filled and they are all being filled by people who know what to do you can win just about any PVP match. your healer and controller are do the team much justice in PVP when you only need to be in one spot at a time. in maps where you split up like aust and star labs these roles become less effective if communication is not used
